Women And Their Love For Shoes

by Gail Mardew

Women can be very fickle when it comes to shoes. We don’t just buy something off the display rack. Each pair is bought after meticulous examination of the material, color, accents and endless badgering of friends for their honest opinion as to whether or not the pair we like suits us.

Shoes are a fashion statement in itself. A woman can devote an entire outfit’s worth of worrying over which pair of shoes to buy. Both an advantage and a disadvantage, women’s shoes are made in many designs which make choosing, if one really has to choose, a difficult and serious affair for girls.

Designers can play a lot with conceptualizing designs for women’s shoes. Flat shoes or high heels, open-toed or pointy, strappy or closed, with accents or none, these designs are mixed and matched into fabulous designs that women love.

A woman can build up her outfit for the day basing on her shoes, instead of the other way around. That’s how important shoes are for women. The right shoes, such as pointy-toed high heels, can make a casual outfit of jeans and a blouse look more formal. Shoes with accents of feathers, ribbons, chains, etc… call on people’s attention. For something worn below at one’s feet, shoes can actually put you in the spotlight.

When there’s a special occasion that involves careful planning of an attire and dressing up to impress, shoes once again make it high on women’s priority list. Proms, weddings, birthday parties, formal events, each of these occasions call for special attention when it comes to shoes. Since women’s shoes are often with distinctive designs, it is certainly noticeable if a pair is worn often. That’s why women like to buy a lot of shoes in different styles.

Shoes are more than just items of clothing they can also be confidence boosters for ladies. High heels are especially designed to make a woman’s spine upright to help her keep her good posture. The slim heels and dainty design of stilettos make the wearer’s legs look slimmer and longer. Knowing that you’re walking with great shoes on makes you step forward with confidence.

If your budget does not permit you to have as many pairs as you would like, choose instead the shoes that you can use for more than one occasion and suitable for many looks. Simple designs will not call for much attention so you can wear them inconspicuously again. Look for shoes that you can wear with jeans and with a dress. It is also a good idea to add accents to your shoes yourself and create different designs. This will help you save more money.
