Renewing Alternative Energy For A Sustainable World
We are blessed with so much sources of energy that we can use for our daily needs. There are also lots of alternative sources of energy provided for all of us and the whole earth. Renewable powers are present in all corners of the world but these are only used by those who cannot afford or where availability is scarce of the technology of mechanical electricity.
Energy sources like the wind, sun and the geothermal are inexhaustible no matter how much we may use them, however we need to know and understand how to harness them and turn them into the kind of power that we need. This has become particularly more important because the fossil fuels are getting depleted fast and we need to turn to alternative energy sources to meet all our requirements.
Transforming the raw fossil fuels into petroleum and other products included complicated processes such as refining and other processes. These processes are extremely expensive and need a lot of hard work as well. Since we have accomplished such as difficult task in the last century, it won’t really be that tough to harness the alternative energy sources.
Transitioning may not sound familiar to most of us until now, since this process is done only in some countries. But the transitioning of alternative energy to become useful for everyone is the right thing to do not only to conserve energy, but to save the mother earth as well from total depletion. This will also lessen the causes of global warming which then causes different turbulence and tragedies throughout the world.
Solar power is a renewable form of energy. Harnessing this form of energy involves buying apparatus which initially is more costly than harnessing the energy provided by the conventional fuels. However, we need to take this difference into our stride because this will happen when we make a change from conventional to non-conventional sources of energy. It’s not practical to think that we can just switch to the renewable sources and just do away with all the conventional sources of energy overnight. The change will be expensive ad gradual.
Nothing has changed about the principles of generation of electricity since the time of Michael Faraday who discovered it in’00. Electromagnetic induction is perhaps the most commonly used method out of the seven methods of converting energy into electrical energy. This method basically involves generating electrical energy from kinetic energy. However, trying to tap the other new sources of energy will require us to understand the basics once again and develop some new skills and training methods.
These days the technology using photovoltaic devices has seen some rapid progress. However, the basic issue with the photovoltaic solar panels is that they are naturally more expensive than the electricity generated from the conventional sources of energy. Nevertheless, now there is a 40% leap in the capacity in places like New Jersey, Germany, California and Japan. With the kind of progress that is happening, it is hoped that it won’t be very long when solar power will be at par with petroleum in terms of the efficiency and the cost.
New methods, products and visiting old mistakes can help us to understand new ways of power creation. Children are being educated in school about the importance of the earth, sun and wind and the ill effects of pollution on our planet. In a nutshell, the faster we understand how to harness these renewable sources of energy, the happier we and this planet will be!
